2011 National Online Speech Contest Winner

Congratulations to Nigel Speedy from Newport Speakers Club who won the 2011 contest. His entry can be viewed here. Nigel's success means that the Harry Hislop trophy has been won by a Wales club member every year since its inception!

Success for Wales in the 2010 National Online Speech Contest!

The Harry Hislop trophy is returning again to Wales. After the success by John Evans (Cardiff Mixed Speakers Club) in 2009, the 2010 contest has been won by Patricia Douse from Brecon Speakers Club. Runner up in the contest was Adrian Robson from Cardiff Speakers Club.

Cardiff Speakers Club enters the ASC National Online Speech Contest

About the Harry Hislop Trophy

Cardiff SC is delighted that the trophy for this contest has been named the Harry Hislop Trophy. Harry was a founder member of Cardiff Speakers Club who was very keen on developing public speaking. His advice was to never turn down an invitation to speak in public.

The design of the trophy is a wooden laptop with the keyboard containing panels to put the names of the winners.
